A good logo is a solid investment, like any other work. A designer has to spend a lot of time creating a truly good and professional logo, and it's definitely worth the money.

I think you only have to look at some of the sites being flipped these days to see evidence of this.

Take a domain, design a logo which has some representation towards the business/brand and you can instantly command a few dollars. Try sell the same domain on its own, and most people wont even be prepared to pay the registration price.
