Here’s one that I would think is pretty obvious, yet I see it much more often than I would have thought, and that is: bloggers not changing the permalinks of their WordPress site to Custom Structure -> %postname%! I am pretty sure that having your page and post titles be numbers as opposed to potential keywords is not beneficial to a site’s SEO! :)

So that’s just one thing that I think is super easy to fix, and yet fairly important! :)

Thanks for sharing you thoughts – I think lots of blogs just dish out nofollow as a matter of policy. The success with bloggin, I think like all content, is to make it appealling and relevant to the reader – this will give great SEO benefits as a by-product because it will have short titles and will be concise and to the point.

In regards to the optimized title tag….I had not heard that shorter is better. Mine is the standard made by the All in One Seo plugin which includes my website name every time. So I checked some of my high ranking competitors and a couple of them actually have the premium keywords for our niche in EVERY title posting. Soooooooo, I'm wondering if i should ax the website name and add the keywords like my competitors seem to successfully be doing?
