The domain name is important, but a lot of companies have a lot of domains type: my-business-town/contry .com .net .org .biz ext … so the “rest part” of optimization is still important and having domain with the brand of your business is crucial.

I think that less is definitely more, where domain auctions are concerned.If you are fortunate enough to own that domain name as a real estate broker or agent, you will get top ranking for that keyword if you actually offer listing information at that site.

If you guys think domain names are useless then go and look at ebay where the domain name
inmemoryofmichaeljackson.com sold for almost 10 mil.

Keyword rich domains are well worth the investment and long tail keyword domains like nyrealestatelistings.com etc will be worth a lot in the not so far future.

The domains have keywords in them. Bottom line, that’s worth money. For Real Estate: City + “Property Listings” or “listings” or “real estate listings” “new listings” etc. If you don’t have the keyword in the domain imo you are embarking on an uphill battle.

i think maybe big city domain names are can be advantage for the others.some domains are can be too long but short city domains always have a advantage for the other domains.for example losangelesbullers :) mmm i think i can get this domain :)

Roughly estimations, each one(geo+realestatelisting.com) isn’t even worth 200 bucks/piece. Unless you have another strategy divide among local estate firms or else, it won’t get any type in traffic. Branding?? Nah, custom name+geo is even more broader and easier to remember than geo+bla bla bla. I can’t even type it correctly in the browser.

geo+realestate.com is really worth what it was auctioned. Domaining sounds easy but it’s not as easy as it looks. The longer, the sucker.
