The guide was a refreshing read with no fluff material and had only pure stuff. It wasn’t very advanced stuff but as always fundamentals are fundamentals and they have their own place.

I started using a google approved SEO company for my site 6 months ago, and without changing anything visible on the site, they move me from page 18 to page 1 for the biggest most generic search term (and anouther 30 odd terms besides). Just be following these rules and staying on top of Googles ever changing algorithm. It is always more complex than a simple article could cover, and I would advise paying experts to get there and stay there BUT if money is tight, this is definitely the best alternative. Far better than risking offence with “black hat” techniques which will bite you on the bum in the end.

I was (like most, I’m sure) leary of why they would publish this. Maybe Google finally woke up and realized that the legit WH SEO industry is a good thing for their business and not the enemy.

I wouldn’t, however, expect this document to ever get that advanced. There is no doubt that while this info is good, it was delivered to create a sense of ‘giving’ without really ‘giving’.
