GoDaddy.com announced in a press release in January that they won the bid to manage the new .ME ccTLD.

Over 30,000 .ME domains have been pre-registered and several thousand more have been reserved (full list) by doMEn to be auctioned off at a later date. However, that is a small number of possibilities for words and phrases to work well with the .ME extension!

Get in Early for Some Great Name Opportunities

Make a list of names that you think would sound great with a .ME extension. Think local or GEO names and personal services, blogs, videos, maps and apps.

Prices are expected to be $19.99/yr with a minimum 2 year registration. Though they could be lower at GoDaddy with discount coupon codes.

Definitely not a fan of GoDaddy, but they do have some really nice prices on domains (and nice coupons). I'm not sure how well .me will fair, but this looks like a steal for those who want to own their own name.

No. it's not a TLD. The point is I really don't understand how people catch 2 and 3 chars when a new domain published..

.ME domains are fabulous because it gives new marketing potential. Examples: call.me, f**k.me, and so on.

.ME is an Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) that has been assigned to Montenegro country.

The same as we have used .TV for television although .tv is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the island nation of Tuvalu.

Another point is that .COM is a gTLD (Generic TLD) that goes for Commercial and not companies.

I'm sure most of the verb.me names have already been claimed. There's really no other use for .me. It's unfortunate that all these additional TLDs aren't really becoming mainstream.
