Four Letter Domains: The New Vanity License Plate
Take for example, a domain I registered earlier this month, “RSXJ.com” this was an expired domain that I caught by chance. Mind you, it has been a few weeks after all of the four letter domains were registered. My first impression of the domain name concluded that this was the perfect domain for an “RSX Junkie” or some old Joe, John, Jacob, Jingle, Jack and Jill, all of whom drive Acura RSX’s of course.
Some people are buying LLLL.com (four letter) domains and using them as personalized license plates.

I don’t know about you, but I want one! I’m on the lookout for an LLLL.com domain that has some meaning to me as a web developer and domainer. If you have any suggestions let me know.
- LLLL.com Domain Name ~ $50
- Fee for Vanity License Plate ~ $30
- Having that hotty in the Beamer hit you up on Facebook - Priceless!
If vanity plates don’t rev your engine, you could always just go for a custom vinyl domain name sticker to slap on your windshield.

Maybe these are the new “in” thing. A dot com license plate is definitely good advertising. But, yes, it is helpful if the letters have some meaning.

Thats not true, for example the XKCD.com domain in theory is a very hard domain to remember but its content is so appealing to me that popped right out of my mind when I read you comment Hipotecas.

It is possible. But the cost of these domains will be very cheap

What would the current value of 4 letter domains? I was able to register 21 four letter domains last night that expired on Jan 1, 2008. They cost me $50/each.

In this case, you should definitely get “LLLL.COM” on your license plate. It has ‘domainer’ written all over that one!

Already domainers like us face a great demand for 4 char domains, If it is used for other purposes, means it will end up in higher pricing. Even then the over all domain market will have a better pricing
Best Regards.

Just curious, how do you catch a domain ‘by chance’?
