No January 10 launch for .RS

Despite Internet rumours to the contrary, no date has yet been set for the launch of Serbia’s Internet domain.

“No decision on the .RS launch has yet been taken by the managing board of RNDIS, the .RS registry organisation, so the January 10 date is absolutely false.” RNDIS spokesman Slobodan Markovic couldn’t be any clearer.

Markovic contacted Domaines.info to set the record straight after seeing the January date on the Internet.

“We are currently in the process of the accreditation of a first batch of 24 registrars,” Markovic added. “We are also translating our web site and policy documents into English and testing our automatic domain name registration system.”

“Only once these processes are completed will the managing board of RNIDS meet and decide the .RS launch date.”

Good post…I first became aware of this when someone on a forum had the site seoco.in . not sure why he was targetting that but he said it was an experiment. If this takes off I’m sure Google or other search engines will filter them out to protect the SERPS integrity
